Pavilion Nordico

PAVILION NORDICO is excited to announce our participation in the summer edition of Stockholm Design Week.

At the second stop of our Nordic tour of talks & workshops, the team will give more details about PAVILI|ON NORDICO and its new design initiative including our new open call aimed exclusively at  designers.
On Friday the 23rd of August between 16:00-18:00, co-founder of PAVILION NORDICO, Sara Løve Daðadóttir, designer and former resident, Bettina Nelson and Argentine craftswoman and architect, Dolores Mallea will give a talk and present the new design-focused open call. During the talk the trio will give insight into the thriving Argentine design scene and its connection to the Nordic region, historically and at present.

In early 2019, during her residency at PAVILION NORDICO, designer Bettina Nelson developed the chair PN1. The chair was developed and crafted in collaboration with Dolores Mallea. As an extension of this project PAVILION NORDICO now calls for more Nordic designers to collaborate with the thriving Argentine design scene.

Buenos Aires is currently experiencing a boom of young innovative crafts and design studios, many of them already celebrating international successes.  For its new initiative PAVILION NORDICO has teamed up with some of the most promising designers, architects, curators and craftswomen in contemporary Argentina.

We welcome anyone interested in the project to join us for an informal info and feedback session on how to become part of the project.

The event is made possible with the support of The Argentine Embassy in Sweden, OPSTART, Nordic Culture Fund and PAVILION NORDICO.

About the Open Call:

We will give up to five Nordic designers the chance to spend between four to eight weeks in Buenos Aires in 2020. During the stay the selected designer will be working on a joint design project in close collaboration with our local partners. The open call will be launched on August 23rd 2019 and run until September 30th 2019. More info to be announced on our website.
