OUR FIRST EDITION COMES TO AN END

19.06.2019

We did it! The very first edition of new Nordic residency and art center PAVILION NORDICO in Buenos Aires has been completed.

In the first half of this year our home in Buenos Aires hosted its first twelve residents from seven different nations. Together with these amazing talents, we put on thirteen events, including the performance-exhibition ‘Various Parks’ in collaboration with local artists and the memorable opening party for ‘Reacción A Islandia’ with Cycle Art and Music festival. We hosted our visual design team KIOSK studio as well as media partner Gruppe Magazine, and had a chance to collaborate with fantastic local talent such as photographers Dagurke, Javier Agustin Rojas and Sur Del Cruz. In total, we worked with over 70 people from twelve different nations.

During these exciting, exhilarating and sometimes exhausting months, we had a chance to deep-dive into the art and culture scene of Buenos Aires and its surroundings, introduce some fantastic Nordic creators to the local scene and inspire all kinds of creative international collaborations.

Now that this first edition has come to a close, we would like to give a big heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made this project possible so far. This includes our team, residents and advisors, our funding partners at The Nordics, Nordic Culture Fund, Myndlistarsjóður and Iceland Art Centre, design partners Tekla, Verner Panton and Artek, our local friends and collaborators, and all the guests who made our public events a success.

The second edition of PAVILION NORDICO will be announced later this year. In the meantime, our public program will continue in Europe — details to follow soon. You can catch up with our past activities and follow the latest developments on this website or our Instagram.
