Pavilion Nordico

PAVILION NORDICO is excited to announce the residency of Swedish-English artist and designer Bettina Nelson this April.

Originally from Stockholm, Bettina now lives and works in Copenhagen. Her interdisciplinary work extends from furniture and spatial design to objects and illustrations. Before pursuing her MFA from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Design, Nelson was a professional dancer. This first career path has left traces in her design: the objects she creates explore the links between body, space and mind, with specific references to her own feelings and experiences.

For Bettina, being in PAVILION NORDICO is a kind of homecoming: she has spent some time in Buneos Aires 12 years ago while backpacking through South America. This is when she fell in love with the Latin-European vibe of the city.

During her residency, she plans to create a piece of furniture or design object place-specific for PAVILION NORDICO that is influenced by Buenos Aires - both by the people she will meet along the way and by material typical for Argentina - but also by her childhood memories and her Nordic design heritage.
